NY Grandfather Stole Damage Award For Death Of Son, From Granddaughter

[From article]
A heartless Long Island grandpa stole a $2 million wrongful-death payout from his dead son’s young daughter — and blew it on a luxury car, a new house and a nightclub investment before his arrest last week, officials said.
“I was really happy that my grandfather was arrested and put in jail because he deserves it,” Rebecca Schaefer, now 13, told the Post. “I’m so angry with him for what he did.”
Gary Eriksen, whose son, Scott, died in police custody in 2005, secured the windfall in 2011 after filing a federal police-brutality lawsuit and presenting himself as the next of kin.
But the greedy grandfather never mentioned the existence of Scott’s daughter, Rebecca, and tried to cut her out of the cash when she emerged in 2012, her lawyer told The Post.

White House Shows Extreme Contempt For Rule Of Law

Obama favors the rule of lawyers over the rule of law.

[From article]
Learning to run around American law was his main purpose in attending Harvard Law School, where he quickly sidled up to Professor Derrick Bell, who bashed the Constitution as a form of “original sin.”
There was no reverence in studying the founding documents and the system they created, no desire to work within America’s legal framework and enforce existing law.
No, Obama didn’t study federal statutes to defend them. He studied them to game them, sabotage them. To abdicate them.
[. . .]
According to a new report by the Congressional Research Service, the Hill’s nonpartisan think tank, the president’s authority to grant amnesty is limited to illegal aliens facing emergency situations — such as wars or earthquakes, floods and droughts — that prevent their safe deportation.
The almost 5 million illegals getting a pass from Obama face no such hazards.
By giving them work permits, Obama’s also violating the Immigration and Nationality Act’s intent of protecting domestic labor.
[. . .]
But Obama’s not just flouting immigration statutes. He’s also reinterpreting the nation’s civil-rights laws.
[. . .]
By referring lower and lower shares of black kids for discipline until they equal white levels, MPS is favoring one race over another in violation of the Equal Protection Clause.
[. . .]
Also, Obama is illegally rewriting both the Fair Housing Act and Equal Credit Opportunity Act in order to pressure lenders and insurers into setting quotas for minority homebuyers.
[. . .]
“This is yet another example of an administrative agency trying desperately to write into law that which Congress never intended to sanction,” he wrote in his opinion.
[. . .]
For the administration to claim otherwise is “wishful thinking on steroids,” the judge scolded.
[. . .]
Meanwhile, EEOC Chairwoman Jacqueline Berrien, a former NAACP activist, is unlawfully expanding enforcement of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act to pressure employers to hire minorities with criminal records.
[. .  .]
Both cases charged employers were racist simply for conducting criminal background checks and credit checks for all their job applicants, whites and blacks equally.
[. . .]
Over and over, this administration has run roughshod over the stated will of legislators, even rewriting statutes to suit its radical agenda.
When Obama swore to faithfully execute the nation’s laws, he clearly intended to do no such thing.

Mark Steyn Free Speech Warrior, Fighting For Your Rights

[From article]
I have learned over the years to have a particular contempt for serial litigants who never show up for their own cases. One of the reasons I worked so hard in Canada to get the Section 13 "hate speech" law repealed (which it now is) was that over a 15-year period the plaintiff on every single case was a man called Richard Warman. Yet he never once appeared in court - unlike the mostly poor and unrepresented defendants. To reprise my old line, the process is the punishment - and Warman was not a genuine plaintiff, but merely a man who loosed the process upon others and then got on with his life while they were ensnared in a time-consuming savings-draining nightmare.

White House Assists Domestic Terrorists Destroying Civil Society

[From article]
The lies about why and how Officer Darrin Wilson shot Michael Brown started on day one and never ended.  The indisputable facts are that Brown was shot because he assaulted a police officer, attempted to take the officer's pistol resulting in two close range gun shots in the police cruiser, and then turned around and charged the officer as he was being pursued. The entire event was precipitated by Brown earlier stealing cigars from a local store and assaulting the owner.

What we are witnessing now is the left's war on the civil society.  It's time to speak out in defense of law enforcement and others trying to protect the community and uphold the rule law.
I can only add that President Obama did the bare minimum in calling for nonviolent protest.  He could have done much more, in defense of civil society and the rule of law.  But that apparently is not his priority.

Robbing The New York City Diamond District

A not so subtle thief used a sledgehammer to smash a Diamond District storefront window during a 2007 robbery.
Photo: Renee Nowytarger

[From article]
The heist, which netted about $5 million, was an inside job, orchestrated by co-owner Brian Greenwald, who staged the stickup and a second robbery to collect on his insurance. He and a ringleader he recruited, Hector Rivera — a hardened thief involved in a host of Diamond District robberies between 2002 and 2008 — were both convicted in 2009, along with Eduardo Cartagena-Delgado, who flew in from Puerto Rico to help with the staged Doppelt job.
[. . .]
A culture of theft prevails, according to cops, who say this insular and ultra-competitive community is the city’s most tempting target for robbers, who pull off at least a couple of major heists each year, frequently inside jobs in which the bandits know exactly where to go and what to take. A surprising number occur during broad daylight.
[. . .]
The latest heist — of the Watch Standard Jeweler at 23 West 47th on Nov. 11 — involved a suspected double-cross by owner Daniel Mikhaylov, who allegedly got a fellow dealer to take a driving rap for him, then never paid what he had promised.
So the stiffed colleague sent two goons, including a gunman, to Mikhaylov’s eighth-floor store to scare him into paying, police said. Instead, they pistol-whipped Mikhaylov’s father and made off with $500,000 worth of luxury watches.
[. . .]
Turned out the holdup was really an elaborate performance for the cameras.
Dialite’s two owners, Atul Shah and Mahaveer Kankariva, were caught on tape emptying the company safe just before the arrival of their costumed accomplices, who merely pretended to clean them out. It was done so the two could cash in on a $7 million insurance claim. The phony robbers were never caught.

How Song "This Ole House" Was Written

Stuart Hamblen (far right) in King Of The Cowboys (1943), also known as Starlight On The Trail. That's rodeo champ Yakima Canutt behind him.

[From song]
I was wandering way up in the mountains and came across this dilapidated cabin." He was hunting in the high Sierras and had noticed a mangy, starving old hound dog hanging around an otherwise abandoned cabin. "Inside, I found an old prospector lying dead. I saw curtains, so that meant a woman had been there. I saw kids' things lyin' around. And they were all gone now. The old man was alone." Most of us would just get out, some perhaps would go to the cops, but Hamblen sat down and, with the corpse lying next to him for inspiration, began to rough out a song. "It took about 30 minutes," he said. "I put it down on a brown paper bag the old fellow had left lying there:
Ain't a-gonna need this house no longer
Ain't a-gonna need this house no more
Ain't got time to fix the shingles
Ain't got time to fix the floor
Ain't got time to oil the hinges Or to mend no window pane
Ain't-a-gonna need this house no longer
I'm a-gettin' ready to meet the saints.
[. . .]
A quarter-century after he himself met the saints and a century after his birth, "This Ole House" remains the versatile Stuart Hamblen's most enduring legacy - and the only Number One hit written in the presence of a dead body.

Disabled WWII Veteran, Beaten in New York Nursing Home

Robert Brogan, a World War II veteran, was allegedly attacked while at a state veterans home in St. Albans.

See, I am not the only elder person being beaten and harassed by young criminals. The billions of taxpayer funds spent on human services protections is mostly a waste of money. In Massachusetts these alleged protectors of vulnerable persons stand by and watch as sadistic academic research psychologists and psychiatrists attack their patients without consent, contrary to law, without compassion or sensitivity. These alleged healers are criminal brutes who know the lingo saying they care about the people they abuse. They are worse and more dangerous than police criminals who are known to abuse their power. Psychiatrists have an image as caregivers, and police agencies will not address their abuses. Often they are employed by police agencies and crime families to destroy the spirit and the lives of unpopular persons for political and/or personal purposes.

[From article]
Marine veteran Robert Brogan survived World War II to suffer repeated horrific injuries in a Queens nursing home for ex-soldiers. And no one can explain what happened.
Brogan, 87, moved into the New York State Veterans Home at St. Albans — a 250-bed facility run by the state Health Department — a year ago because of worsening dementia. His wife, Dorothy, is ill.

An injury allegedly suffered by Brogan while at the nursing home.

[. . .]
John Constantino called the NYPD’s 113th Precinct station house on Wednesday. A detective referred him to the state attorney general, who has probed nursing-home abuses, he said.
After Brogan’s head injury in September, the nursing director told the family that alarms would be put on his bed to alert the staff when he got up, so they could check in on and attend to him.
“When we went in the room, we found the battery for the alarm on the floor,” Colleen Constantino said. “The safety system they have in place is not working — especially at night when all these incidents occur.”

A head wound allegedly suffered by Brogan while at a veterans nursing home.

Fooling Voters, Taxpayers, Journalists, and Non Muslims

Who's better at social media? President Obama? Or Islamic State executioner Jihad John?

[From article]
Almost every aspect of Obama's "cool" - from his peerless communication skills to his genius at cutting-edge social media - is totally bogus. His real genius is in pulling the wool over the media's eyes, and given that they walk into the room wearing back-to-front ski-masks that doesn't take much doing, either. For example, Jonathan Gruber couldn't get away with his contempt for the American people if he didn't also have a contempt for the American media. In the latter case at least, it's well deserved.
[. . .]
As Steve Sailer says:
Something I've noticed over the years is that liberals are increasingly unable to notice when they are being satirized.

Religious Beheadings Come To America; White House, Journalists In Denial

[From article]
Colleen Hufford was born in 1960. Life is full of grim twists and cruel vicissitudes, but in mid-20th century America it would not have occurred to anyone that one needed to worry about going to work and being beheaded by a colleague. Yet that's what happened to Ms Hufford on Thursday: She turned up for her job at at the Vaughan Foods food processing plant in Moore, and Alton Alexander Nolen decapitated her.
[. . .]
And, of course, it's also true in the sense that Mr Nolen is a recent convert to Islam and, as David Cameron and Barack Obama and many others are ever more eager to emphasize, terrorism is nothing to do with Islam. Mr Nolen had the Muslim greeting "As-salamu Alaikum" - "Peace be upon you" - tattooed upon his abdomen. And he'd tried, without success, to persuade his co-workers at Vaughan Foods to convert to Islam. So he wasn't just mildly Islamic in the nothing-to-do-with-terrorism sense, he was super-Islamic in the really-totally-no-terrorism-
to-see-here sense.
[. . .]
Colleen Hufford was not the first western woman beheaded this month. In Edmonton, north London, 82-year-old Palmira Silva, an Italian immigrant, was beheaded by Nicholas Salvadore, also a convert to Islam. Miss Silva's executioner was reported to have been "inspired" by recent Isis beheadings of westerners. As we know from President Obama, that's nothing to do with Islam, too. "Nothing to do with Islam" is not yet the leading cause of death in developed nations, but it's making impressive strides.

Major Drug Bust in Northern New Jersey

[From article]
31 individuals who were part of a drug operation that sold more than $1 million narcotics have been arrested after a 3-month long investigation. 518 bricks of heroin were seized in a raid on Sunday in connection with this investigation.
[. . .]
Suspects from Newark, Belleville, Bloomfield, Boonton, Hopatcong, Clifton, Edgewater, Lyndhurst, North Arlington and Rutherford were arrested and charged with multiple narcotics offenses.
[. . .]
The drug operation trafficked narcotics within the Route 21 corridor. 26 law enforcement agencies in Essex, Bergen, Middlesex, and Morris counties worked together to bring down the ring, according to a statement released today by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
[. . .]
Among those arrested was Michael Keeler, 41, of Rutherford, an employee of the U.S. Post Service; and Josephine Heatherly, 33, of North Arlington, an employee of the Youth Consultation Service, a nonprofit that provides assistance to parents and children in crisis.

More than $71,000 in currency and nine vehicles was among the assets seized during the Sunday morning arrests and searches, according to Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray.
[. . .]
The Sunday morning raids were made throughout Essex, Union, Sussex, Bergen, Middlesex, Morris and Passaic Counties.

Misguided Priorities Continue Among National Security Agencies

Health workers in protective suits look at an ambulance upon its arrival at Island Hospital in Monrovia on September 30, 2014. Liberia has been hit the hardest by the worst ever outbreak of Ebola, which has killed more than 3,000 people in west Africa. The latest UN data said 1,830 people have died from the killer virus in Liberia so far, and 3,458 people have been infected.

This pattern applies emphatically to my life of misguided government abuses. Currently it is the FBI, black homosexuals FBI informants who conduct a relentless harassment campaign. On Wednesday November 26, 2014, after 44 years of criminal abuses by police, crime families, FBI informants, Communists and Harvard University campus police, a new young woman graduate student in psychology joined the fun. She replaced a lesbian graduate student in psychology at Harvard University Medical School. This one is at Tufts University. Contrary to the image of psychiatry and psychology as healers, these arrogant, greedy professionals accept employment from crime families and police agencies to conduct brutal campaigns of harassment, intentional infliction of emotional and psychological stress, provocations trying to have me arrested and/or jailed. It is what these gentle healers do. They are control freaks in lovers clothing.

[From article]
At a certain point, you have to choose. My line with the Homeland Security guys is a simple one: every 20 minutes you spend on me, or my kids' chocolate eggs, or Cameron Webster's bagpipe is 20 minutes you're not spending on the guy with Ebola, or Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The price of bagpipe scrutiny is a big hole blown in the lives of American families attending the Boston Marathon, or a bunch of schoolkids in Dallas having to be quarantined for a vicious, ravaging disease with a high fatality rate.
[. . .]
Big Government is, inevitably, stupid government. The bigger it gets the more it will focus on trivia, and the less it will even be able to discern the few things it should be doing. But something more pathological is going on here: "Homeland Security" is more interested in controlling law-abiding Americans than protecting them.

Israeli Historical Interest In Land, Brings Demands From Muslims

[From article]
But just how “holy” is the Temple Mount to Muslims historically?  The answer is that its “third holiest” status is more a matter of political calculation and circumstance than an accurate statement of theology.
[. . .]
Thus, Jerusalem is important to Arabs and Islam only in direct proportion to its importance to Christians and Jews.  Were it not for Jewish interest in what is legitimately their holiest site, Muslims would hardly notice the city, as was the case for centuries before and after the Crusades.  That the mostly Christian West elevates this cynical game of power politics to the level of holy status, co-equal or superior to Jewish (and even Christian) concerns, is but another example of the growing tendency toward subservient dhimmi status regarding Islam in the West.

Democrats Fight Culture Wars, Republicans Focus on Government, Culture Wins

[From article]
Liberals expend tremendous effort changing the culture. Conservatives expend tremendous effort changing elected officials every other November — and then are surprised that it doesn't make much difference.
Culture trumps politics — which is why, once the question's been settled culturally, conservatives are reduced to playing catch-up, twisting themselves into pretzels to explain why gay marriage is really conservative after all, or why 30 million unskilled immigrants with a majority of births out of wedlock are "natural allies" of the Republican Party.
[. . .]
In 1986, in a concurrence to a majority opinion, the chief justice of the United States declared that "there is no such thing as a fundamental right to commit homosexual sodomy." A blink of an eye, and his successors are discovering fundamental rights to commit homosexual marriage.
[. . .]
If the culture's liberal, if the schools are liberal, if the churches are liberal, if the hip, groovy business elite is liberal, if the guys who make the movies and the pop songs are liberal, then electing a guy with an "R" after his name isn't going to make a lot of difference.
Nor should it. In free societies, politics is the art of the possible. In the 729 days between elections, the left is very good at making its causes so possible that in American politics almost anything of consequence is now impossible, from enforcing immigration law to controlling spending.
[. . .]
Culture is the long view; politics is the here and now.
Yet in America vast cultural changes occur in nothing flat, while, under our sclerotic political institutions, men elected to two-year terms of office announce ambitious plans to balance the budget a decade after their terms end. Here, again, liberals show a greater understanding of where the action is.
[. . .]
On the other hand, the nationalization of the family proceeds apace, and America is as well advanced on that path as anywhere else. "The West has nationalized families over the last 60 years," writes Vaidyanathan. "Old age, ill health, single motherhood — everything is the responsibility of the state."

Black Missouri Violence Blamed On White Racism

[From article]
Ferguson was not the only. Just the latest.
No one mentioned Louisville, and how last Spring 200 black people rampaged through that downtown, beating grandparents in front of their grandkids, destroying property, stealing, looting, and creating mayhem.
And when it was over, PBS was kind enough to report that all of that black mob violence was the result of “white racism.”
Black people have no problem saying this all over the country. But reporters black and white are loathe to question it.
And oh yeah, that’s been happening a long time in Louisville, and lots of other places: Cincinnati, Virginia Beach, Fort Lauderdale, DeKalb, South Bend, Champaign, Peoria: Has no one heard about them?
How about the black bus driver who called 20 black people to beat and kick a white family on her bus. All while the black passengers cheered?
College campuses are favorite targets of black crime.
In Rochester, black people have taunted, harassed, robbed, and attacked more than 1000 recent Asian immigrants. A social worker blamed it on Asian “naivete.”
[. . . ]
Black hostility and racial resentment towards white and Asian people are now mainstream.
And they are easy to find it in all the black web sites, all the news shows, fueling all the black mob violence and black on white crime happening right in front of reporters around the country.

History of Middle East Rejects Imposing National Boundaries

The statue of Lieutenant-General Sir Frederick Maude, KCB, CMG, DSO that stood in Baghdad until the Iraqi revolution in 1958.

[From article]
On March 11th 1917, General Maude's British Indian army marched into Baghdad and took as prisoners almost 10,000 Ottoman troops. If you had to locate the birth of the modern, post-caliphate Arab world in a single event, that would be it. Over the next few years, London and Paris drew lines in the sand and invented the western Middle East, and the states we treat with today - Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia. The British certainly understand the significance of March 1917: When they returned to Baghdad to topple Saddam a decade ago, they named their new military headquarters in the Green Zone "Maude House".
[. . .]
"The Islamic State" will be the Islamic State, the one that finally redrew the infidel lines on the Arab map imposed by Anglo-French colonial administrators in 1922. The neo-caliphate will have taken Baghdad, the capital of the old caliphate for half-a-millennium, from its designation in 762 by the caliph al-Mansur as the seat of his empire. Wannabe caliph al-Baghdadi will have an historic Muslim metropolis, most of Iraq, much of Syria, and - who knows? - maybe a nibble or two of Jordan and a few other bits and pieces. John Kerry, who isn't an Islamic scholar but plays one on TV news, will continue huffin' an' a-puffin':
[. . .]
Or, as Osama used to put, when people see a strong horse and a weak horse, they go with the strong horse. The Islamic State will have land, money, oil, and a ton of great infrastructure and weaponry courtesy of American taxpayers. All the "moderate" groups we've been trying to woo from Libya to Syria and beyond will side with the strong horse. Our remaining allies, such as Jordan, reeling under the social strains of a vast swollen refugee tide from across its borders, will get with the program - or be the next to fall. Nothing exists in isolation: Syria was unimportant to the Obama Administration, so it sat by as the opposition to Assad mutated and evolved, and then spilled over into Iraq. And maybe Iraq is unimportant, too, but, bigger and stronger, ISIS will move on from there, too. Is the Kurdish north unimportant? Lebanon? Jordan? Israel?
[. . .]
to modify Trotsky, you may not be interested in the world but the world is interested in you. And, indeed, not being interested in the world would be a more credible position if you hadn't let the world move into the rental apartment above your garage. For those thousands of disaffected young Muslim men cruising jihadist websites from their drab housing projects in Antwerp and Hamburg and Minneapolis, the restored caliphate will not be a pipe dream but a new reality. And they will act accordingly.

American Dream Is Just That, A Dream

[From article]
Gregory Clark is sharing his research as a hard truth with no hope—whether or not you can get ahead in America is as predictable as any formula.
In fact, he says, the formulas for social mobility in the United States show there’s nothing to dream about.
“America has no higher rate of social mobility than medieval England, Or pre-industrial Sweden,” he said. “That’s the most difficult part of talking about social mobility is because it is shattering people s dreams.”
[.  . .]
“My students always argue with me, but I think the thing they find very hard to accept, is the idea that much of their lives can be predicted from their lineage and their ancestry,” he said.
Stuck in a social status is no American Dream—Clark says it’s the American reality.
“The good news is that this is coming from an economist, because economists are used to being unpopular, and so we are the right people to bear this message that the world is a limiting place,” he said.
There’s one caveat to the study, and that is for any one of us, there is always an exception to the rule.
Clarks’ study was published by the Council on Foreign Relations.

Different Reactions From Different Races, Is Reality Dependent Upon Race?

[From article]
From the beginning, Officer Darren Wilson’s shooting of Michael Brown wasn’t reported like news. It was reported like a cause.
The media are in a huff about the prosecutor being “biased” because his father was a cop, who was shot and killed by an African-American.
[. . .]
The reason most grand jury investigations result in an indictment is that most grand juries aren’t convened solely to patronize racial mobs. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon was basically demanding an indictment of Wilson before Big Mike’s body was cold. It was only because of racial politics that this shooting wasn’t dismissed without a grand jury, at all.
[. . .]
TV hosts narrated the riot by saying it showed “the community” feels it’s not being listened to. Only liberals look at blacks looting and say, See what white Americans made them do?
That’s their proof of injustice — look at how blacks are reacting! (While I don’t approve of the looting part, I do approve of the whole throwing-bottles-at-CNN part.)
The looters aren’t the community!
[. . .]
White people don’t feel any obligation to defend some thug just because he’s white. Only blacks are expected to lie on behalf of criminals of their own race.

Few American Hospitals Equipped To Isolate Ebola Infections

Dr. Richard Besser, the chief health and medical editor for ABC News

[From article]
"The idea that this could be done by any American hospital that has an isolation room and can be done safely, I was skeptical about that," said Besser, in a clear departure from recent statements by the CDC that any American hospital can safely care for Ebola patients. Besser mentioned the highly specialized biocontainment equipment and advanced training available at at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, where Fort Worth doctor Kent Brantly was successfully treated for Ebola exposure, and the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where an NBC photographer is currently getting treatment.
[. . .]
Besser did agree that all American hospitals needed to be prepared to receive patients with Ebola, but that once diagnosed, they should be moved to facilities that were fully equipped and prepared to handle the contagious disease.

Blood Samples With Ebola Virus Stolen in Guinea

Armed bandits in Guinea have stolen a batch of blood samples infected with the deadly Ebola virus which were being delivered to a test centre.
The robbers held up a minibus near the town of Kissidougou which was transporting the samples from central Kankan prefecture to the test site 165 miles away in southern Gueckedou.
The blood was stored in a sealed container and was being escorted by four Red Cross officials. It is believed the bandits had no idea what it was they were stealing and may have thought there was cash hidden inside the container.

Man Claims He and His Boss Fired Shots That Killed JFK

Confession: James Files (above) says he is the man who assassinated Pres. John F. Kennedy.

[From article]
A former mob hitman is coming forward once again to say that he is the man who killed President John F. Kennedy.
James Files says that he was the man on the grassy knoll back on November 22, 1963, and that he fired the bullet into Pres. Kennedy's head that ultimately killed him.
He says the other shot that hit Pres. Kennedy came from his boss, Charles 'Chuckie' Nicoletti, who was hiding out in the book depository, the same place Lee Harvey Oswald is believed to have been at the time of the shooting.
Files also says that Oswald, who was charged, but then shot dead before he could be tried or convicted in the killing, never filed a single shot.

Two Ohio Men Freed After Serving 39 Years For Wrongful Homicide Conviction

Free men: Wiley Bridgeman, below, and Ricky Jackson, above, were released Friday from Cuyahoga County Jail after 39 years behind bars. They were originally on death row, but had their sentences commuted to life following a Supreme Court decision in 1978 outlawing the death penalty as it then existed.

[From article]
Two men who faced the death penalty for a 1975 murder have walked free from prison when all the charges against them were dismissed after a witness said his testimony was 'all lies'.
Ricky Jackson and Wiley Bridgeman, 57 and 60, were convicted of murdering Harry Franks, a businessman in Cleveland, Ohio - based largely on the testimony of a 12-year-old who said he saw the murder.
The two, along with Bridgeman's brother Ronnie, were given death sentences after Eddie Vernon testified in court.

In the initial court hearings, Vernon said he was on a bus with other schoolchildren when he heard gunshots near the a grocery store called Cut-Rite.
Other children on the bus have said Vernon would not have been able to see anything from his seat - and he has since admitted that was true.
He now claims detectives talked him into testifying, then said if he claimed he was lying his parents could be put in prison for perjury.
When he dismissed Jackson's case, Judge Richard McMonagle said, 'Life is filled with small victories, and this is a big one.'
'The English language doesn't even fit what I'm feeling,' Jackson, 57, said as he exited the building Friday. 'I'm on an emotional high.'

White House Endangers Security, Health Of Americans

[From article]
a Dallas nurse who cared for Thomas Duncan, the Ebola-stricken Liberian man who died last week, has tested positive for the deadly disease.
This is what happens when President Obama refuses to ban travel to America from Ebola-
ravaged countries in West Africa, strictly for political and politically correct reasons.
The Dallas case suggests that the disease is more contagious than Americans are being told, given the fact that the nurse who was in contact with Duncan was wearing full protective gear. It certainly calls into question Obama’s statement that “you cannot get it through casual contact like sitting next to someone on a bus.”
By not banning flights — or shutting the southern border — Obama is putting our national security at risk, to say nothing of the 3,000 U.S. troops whose lives are now in danger after he nonsensically deployed them to Africa to fight the disease.
[. . .]
The L.A. Times is already reporting that “some question the official assertion that Ebola cannot be transmitted through the air.” The report went on to say that in late 1989, virus researcher Charles L. Bailey studied Ebola among several dozen rhesus monkeys in Reston, Va. What Bailey learned then informs his suspicion now that the current strain of Ebola might be spread through tiny liquid droplets propelled into the air by coughing or sneezing.
“We know for a fact that the virus occurs in sputum and no one has ever done a study (disproving that) coughing or sneezing is a viable means of transmitting,” he said. Unqualified assurances that Ebola is not spread through the air, Bailey said, are “misleading.”
[. . .]
The problem is, Ebola has a 21-day incubation period, meaning that a carrier may not display symptoms for weeks. Which strongly suggests that a carrier can arrive at JFK Airport with no temperature, pass a screening test and be allowed into the U.S. What’s more, people who know they have the disease can hide a temperature spike by taking an aspirin or an Ibuprofen just before their plane lands.

A woman fitted with a pacemaker has died after passing through an airport scanner in the southern Russian town of Ulan-Ude.
Diana Tolstova, 30, died in the airport minutes after passing through the scanner. Her husband Maxim, 33, said that they had provided papers proving that Mrs Tolstova was fitted with the heart device – which is adversely affected by airport scanners.
"I don’t know what happened but she went through it anyway," he told Central European News agency.
"When we got to the departure gate she began to feel dizzy and suddenly collapsed.
[. . .]
"Security and airport personnel are given strict instructions about how to handle people with pacemakers, and we warn them never to let a wearer go through a metal detector," an airport spokesman said.
"In normal circumstances, they see their papers and let them pass. In this case, the patient seems to either have forgotten about it, didn’t know or became confused by the airport security arrangements.

To passers-by, the Cambridge graduate and former high-flying civil servant may look odd, but she insists that the fabric — called Aaronia Shield — is the only way she can protect herself from the radiation caused by wifi and mobile phone signals.
Like increasing numbers of people, Mary believes she suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity intolerance syndrome (EHS) — in other words, she thinks the electronic devices most of us rely on in our everyday lives are making her ill.
Up to 5 per cent of the population — more than 3 million people — believe they are affected by some degree of electro-sensitivity, an allergy to the radiowaves and microwaves emitted by devices.
[. . .]
‘I hardly ever go to public places, and only go to friends’ houses if they have switched everything off beforehand.’
The highly controversial idea that electromagnetic fields can affect our health was first raised in the Sixties, when American doctor Robert O. Becker campaigned against electricity pylons, which he believed were causing illness to those who lived nearby.
[. . .]
A 2011 brain-scan study found that, in the presence of wifi radiation, male students’ brain activity was reduced in areas associated with paying attention.
Other research presented to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine in 2010 reported that wifi signals significantly dampened brain activity in young women when they were trying to repeat a series of numbers that had been read to them.
[. . .]
‘It started as a strange warmth inside my body, but, by the mid-Nineties, I was very unwell, with an irregular heartbeat and breathing problems,’ he says
For many years, Ricky says, he was unable to work because of his illness.
‘I’ve tried everything,’ he says. ‘I’ve slept inside a canopy made from fabric to block out the radiation, and painted my house with a graphite paint.

White House Media Manipulation Exposed By Judicial Watch, Sharyl Attkisson

[From article]
Lesson in how the administration attempts to manipulate the press and news coverage: Fast and Furious email to Attorney General Eric Holder from a communications adviser, Oct. 5, 2011 [emphasis added below]. (President Obama withheld this email under executive privilege but it was recently released as a result of a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch against the Justice Department).
[. . .]
Matthew Miller to Attorney General Holder:
1. Send a letter to the Hill explaining what happened. Put in context the amount of information you get every week, say that you don’t recall reading those bullets or being aware of Fast and Furious at any time before early this year, but in any event, you certainly weren’t aware of the gun walking aspect of it until the news broke earlier this year (at which point you took immediate steps to have the IG investigate, etc.). This needs to happen tomorrow. In fact, it should’ve happened today. The last time your credibility was directly questioned was whether you had disclosed all of your amicus briefs — the story started to break on a Thursday night, and we made people stay up all night compiling information so we could get a response out by 1 pm or so on Friday.

Kansas Suspect Arrested Charged With Rape, Burning Woman Alive

Cornell A. McNeal, 26, of Wichita, had been charged with attempted capital murder and rape in the attack.

[From article]
A 36-year-old woman who had been sexually assaulted and set on fire died Saturday morning, police said, just over a week after she was found in a Wichita park with severe burns on more than half her body and cuts on her head.
[. . .]
Cornell A. McNeal, 26, of Wichita, had been charged Friday with attempted capital murder and rape in the attack, as well as with two counts of arson stemming from fires that were set that day in the park and at a garage.
[. . .]
Police said McNeal was linked to the attack by forensic evidence obtained after the woman was taken to a hospital.
[. . .]
Sedgwick County District Court records show that a woman whom McNeal had once dated got a protection from abuse order against him in 2007, alleging that after she broke up with him, McNeal had threatened her and had broken windows out at her home and car.
That woman is not the same person as the victim in the park case, police said.

Updated (2): Florida Campus Police Shoot Dead Black Lawyer

Posted November 20, 2014 9:27 PM ET; Last updated November 25, 2014 9:33 PM ET

ABC News reported on November 20, 2014 that the dead lawyer thought the government was following him and targeting him. Everyone knows that the government never conducts surveillance on Americans. The NSA, the FBI, local police, crime families, not even Harvard University campus police conduct surveillance and harassment. So it is obvious that this black lawyer was imagining the surveillance, and falsely accusing the dedicated, upright, honest and always truthful above mentioned government agencies of wrongdoing.

Then there is the report that the Department of Homeland Security wants to destroy surveillance files. Huh? But the government does not follow civilians. How can this be? Oh, wait. If the DHS destroys the files, then they can say, "There's no evidence of surveillance." I got it.

http://www.nextgov.com/cybersecurity/2014/11/dhs-set-destroy-governmentwide-network-surveillance-records/99737/

And then there is the report of the "World's most advanced hacking spyware let loose." Organized crime is reportedly "tapping into networks run by industrial companies" for financial gain. So it couldn't be organized crime who was watching the black lawyer shot dead by Florida campus police. Oh, wait. Do crime families target individuals in order to control them? To provoke them? To torment them? Really?

http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/8392d196-7323-11e4-907b-00144feabdc0.html#axzz3K0r6FjZY

Later updates said both city police and campus police returned fire and killed the black lawyer. In any case this headline states that the black lawyer was "emotional, in a state of psychological crisis." That is usually enough for police to kill any person with or without a gun. Disabled persons are preferred targets for police because no one believes them or listens to disabled persons. Better to kill them than to have to listen to their irrational  comments. But when politicians say outrageous irrational statements. No problem.

Are any of the comments reported below not protected by the Constitution? What do psychiatrists know that they are able to criminalize speech which is protected by U.S. law?

Erratic behavior: Ex Danielle Nixon (above) says that May thought the government was spying on him.

[But we know that the government does not spy on civilians. They are destroying evidence of surveillance in any case, so there will be no evidence of surveillance. Moreover organized crime does not watch or harass, civilians either. They always obey the law and never lie, just like the FBI. And [quoting the White House and former Cambridge City Councilor Jim Braude] "everyone knows" there are no Communists in the United States. Thus they were not following Mr. May.]

[From article]
Back in September, May had walked into the Las Cruces Police Department describing to cops there were cameras installed in his home that were watching him.
He also explained to one officer that he heard voices commenting on his daily activities and said once after a bath, while he was applying lotion, he heard people saying, 'Did you see that? He never puts lotion on.'
Police also learned May believed that neighbors were watching and laughing at him during a call to his apartment complex in October.
Responding to a report by a next-door neighbor that a football-size rock had been tossed through her window, officers spoke to a maintenance man who told them May complained to management about neighbors laughing at him while he watched porn.
[Well, it is funny to watch former prosecutors watch porn. So maybe his neighbors were watching him and laughing at him. Hahaha.]
The man also said he watched May's dog multiple times during his stints in a mental health facility.
This comes after news that May sent a Facebook message to nine former classmates before the shooting that he need help to 'expose' what was happening to him and was sending them packages.
One was picked up by the FBI when it reached Texas. Officers believe they could contain recordings and notes made by May on a thumb drive.
[. . .]
After graduating from law school at Texas Tech, May had a number of jobs and most recently had been a rookie prosecutor in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
[Maybe working as a prosecutor affected his perceptions and made him eccentric. Should we evaluate all prosecutors?]
[. . .]
last month and moved back to Florida.
Danielle Nixon told police May recently developed 'a severe mental disorder.'
[So is Danielle Nixon a psychiatrist? Why does she reveal Mr. May's medical records? If she is not a psychiatrist, why do the journalists report her amateur diagnosis?]
[. . .]
The report also said May recently quit his job and was on medication. [Aha. Why do journalists never suspect that psychiatric drugs cause eccentric speech, behavior and violence? The FDA requires a black box warning on psychiatric drugs which are known causes of  violence and suicide. Maybe the blame should be shared by psychiatrists for causing violence. When will they be held accountable for all of the violence after taking their drugs?]
[. . .]
The last time they saw him he was cheering on the Florida Seminoles football team from his couch.
[Maybe watching football "from his couch" set him off. It is a violent sport. Maybe he should have watched the game at a bar.]
[. . .]
he lived with his grandmother after coming out of a 'bad situation' with his parents.
[More potential sources of his eccentricity. His parents and his grandparents. They may need scrutiny. How many more tragic events like this can be prevented by correcting misguided behavior by parents and grandparents?]
[. . .]
he often wrote biblical verses and made a number of references to Christianity.
[Does that mean that Christianity caused these tragic deaths?]
[. . .]
He also posted a quote by Black Panther leader Bobby Seale:
[That may explain it all.]

In September, Myron May, 31, told Las Cruces police there were cameras installed in his apartment and voices could be heard
He also complained to management in October that neighbors laughed at him while he watched porn, police reported
Early Thursday morning, May opened fire at FSU, where he was an alumnus
He wounded three people, one critically, before police shot him down
Hours before the attack, he told nine classmates they would receive a package, but wouldn't say what was inside
He also left a voicemail message for an acquaintance saying: 'I do not want to die in vain'

Norman, Oklahoma High School Students Protest Rape

[From article]
“One of the administrators suspended a girl simply because she was on the drugs used to rape her," student Mariah Smith accused. "We will not stand for that any longer.”
“If girls are getting mocked out of their school for being raped, obviously it’s happening,” student Allyssia Warden said.
The district responded to those allegations saying that none of the victims had been punished for coming forward about the rape allegations or been kept out of school. They said they had received one report of bullying and responded accordingly.

Officials say they handled all three accusations appropriately and suspended the student who was accused.

Cosby Diverted Attention From His Swinging Ways In Las Vegas

What woman could resist that shirt and tie?

[From article]
Bill Cosby is a horrible human being — even when he isn’t allegedly drugging and raping women — according to detractors.
A journalist I’ve known for many years recalls a sordid tale about Cosby in the summer of 1989, when the reporter was working for the National Enquirer.
The supermarket weekly had a solid story about Cosby — whose show was No. 1 in TV ratings and who was viewed as a perfect father figure — “swinging with Sammy Davis Jr. and some showgirls in Las Vegas,” the reporter, who didn’t want to be named, told me yesterday.
Contacted by the Enquirer for comment, Cosby apparently handed the weekly a story about his then-23-year-old daughter Erinn’s battle with drug and alcohol abuse instead.
“My editor told me that daddy Cosby was the source. He ratted out his flesh and blood,” said my source.

[From article]
Alexa Nicole De Armas, 17, was arrested Friday and charged with human trafficking of a person younger than 18, a felony.
At least one act of prostitution took place, police said, leading to the arrest of John Michael Mosher, 21, who reportedly paid $40 and a bottle of liquor to have sex with a 15-year-old girl.
A third person will be arrested Tuesday, Venice Police Capt. Tom Mattmuller said.
Police said the ring came to light after four students confided to Venice High School administrators. De Armas and at least one other student concocted the business plan over the summer to prostitute other teenagers for payments of money and alcohol, according to police documents.
[. . .]
During a police investigation after a search warrant was issued for De Armas' Facebook account, police said they found conversations between potential business partners, participants and details of how transactions would be made; prices for services included $50 to $70 to perform oral sex and $100 for intercourse with a virgin. They considered a 40 percent profit split for prostitutes.

U.S. Senator Chuck "You" Schumer (D-NY) Admits Passing Obamacare Was Musguided

[From article]
Sen. Chuck Schumer upbraided his own party Tuesday for pushing the Affordable Care Act through Congress in 2010.
While Schumer emphasized during a speech at the National Press Club that he supports the law and that its policies "are and will continue to be positive changes," he argued that the Democrats acted wrongly in using their new mandate after the 2008 election to focus on the issue rather than the economy at the height of a terrible recession.
[. . .]
"We took their mandate and put all of our focus on the wrong problem—health care reform."
The third-ranking Senate Democrat noted that just about 5 percent of registered voters in the United States lacked health insurance before the implementation of the law, arguing that to focus on a problem affecting such "a small percentage of the electoral made no political sense."

Bubonic Plague: Similar to the Black Death That Swept Medieval Europe -- kills 47 in Madagascar

Bubonic Plague The Black Death or bubonic plague -- officially known as Yersina pestis -- killed a third of Europe's population in the 14th century, and it still exists in some parts of the world today. It has a long history as a bioweapon: accounts of the Mongol siege of the Crimean city of Caffa in 1347 say the invaders catapulted the corpses of infected people over the walls. And it isn't just a medieval phenomenon; the last major outbreak in the United States was in 1900 in San Francisco and involved 121 people of which 113 died; cases have appeared sporadically since. The plague is transmitted by fleas, which incubate the bacterium in their gullets. The multiplying Yersina block blood from getting to the fleas' stomachs, and the starving fleas start to feed more aggressively and try to clear the blockage by regurgitating the bacteria. That transmits the disease to hosts, including humans. Symptoms appear in two to six days. The infection causes the lymph nodes to swell (the "buboes"), but sometimes the bacteria invades the bloodstream directly and causes flu-like symptoms, without the swollen lymph nodes. In either case, mortality rates can be 40 to 60 percent if untreated. Infection of the lungs is the most serious form. The patient will cough up bloody sputum and droplets that help spread the disease person-to-person, and unless treated quickly mortality can approach 100 percent. The Black Death is treatable with antibiotics such as streptomycin now, but a resistant strain could be a serious public health problem.

Madagascar said Monday it was trying to contain an outbreak of plague -- similar to the Black Death that swept medieval Europe -- that has killed 47 people and is spreading to the capital Antananarivo.
Bubonic Plague: Still Here, Still Killing People
"The plague" has been taking lives in the most gruesome of ways for thousands of years. And guess what: It's still here.
The health ministry said there had been 138 suspected cases since the beginning of the year and warned that the death toll was likely to rise in coming months.
Two people have been infected in Antananarivo, one of them dying, and health workers have mounted a pest control campaign through slum areas around the city, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.
Plague is spread by fleas and mostly affects rats, but humans can also contract the disease if they are bitten by a disease-carrying flea.
The bubonic form prompts swelling of the lymph node, but can be treated with antibiotics. The pneumonic version, affecting the lungs, can be spread from person to person through coughing and can kill within 24 hours.
Resistant fleas
The situation in Madagascar is all the more worrying because of a high level of resistance to insecticides targeting fleas, the U.N. health agency said.

The Black Death, otherwise known as the bubonic plague, is estimated to have killed some 25 million people across Europe in the Middle Ages.

Grand Jury Transcript: Missouri Officer Explains Why He Shot Teenager

[From article]
“I drew my gun,” Officer Darren Wilson recalled. “I said, ‘Get back or I’m going to shoot you.’ He immediately grabs my gun and says, ‘You are too much of a pu–y to shoot me.’ ”
The officer said he was sitting in his patrol car when he drew his firearm after Brown slugged him twice in the face through an open window. They proceeded to struggle over the weapon and Wilson — who is 6 feet 4 — said he was overmatched.
“When I grabbed him, the only way I can describe it, I felt like a 5-year-old holding on to Hulk Hogan,” Wilson said. “That’s just how big he felt and how small I felt.”
The encounter began when Wilson, 28, witnessed two men walking down the middle of the street after they had stolen cigarillos from a convenience store.
“What the f- -k are you going to do about it?” Brown yelled at the cop as he tried to exit his car, Wilson recalled.
In his testimony, the officer recalled the fury and rage unleashed on him by Brown.
“The only way I can describe it, is it looks like a demon,” the officer said. “That’s how angry he looked.”
Wilson told grand jurors he was concerned that another punch to his face could “knock me out or worse.”

“Minority communities typically are subject to more crime,” he said. “They need law enforcement more than anybody.”
No! Wait!
That wasn’t Rudy Giuliani. That was President Obama — speaking on ABC’s “This Week.”
Giuliani was over on “Meet the Press” — opening up on Michael Dyson, a Georgetown University professor and frequent critic of policing practices in Ferguson, Mo., and elsewhere in America:
“Ninety-three percent of blacks are killed by other blacks,” Rudy barked. “I would like to see the [same] attention paid to that, that you are paying to [Ferguson].”
“What about the poor black child who was killed by another black child?” Giuliani asked. “Why aren’t you protesting that? White police officers wouldn’t be there if you weren’t killing each other.”

But a relative of Wilson’s insisted that the cop isn’t racist and said he only “shot Michael Brown that day because he was in fear of his life.
“It was Michael Brown or him,” the relative told the Daily Mail. “He shot him, and he got to go home that day.”
“The grand jury made the right decision,” the source added. “[Wilson] would have shot [Brown] if he was white. He would have shot him if he was Mexican. He did not shoot Michael Brown because he was black.”

Alan Dershowitz: Missouri Grand Jury Correct; Media Abuse Misleads Public

[From article]
He also blamed TV news media for helping to incite the protesters who looted businesses, started fires, and threw rocks in the wake of the announcement of the grand jury's decision Monday night.
"The grand jury came to the right decision because generally you don't indict someone unless you believe you can convict them at a jury trial," he said. "Any reasonable prosecutor would come to the conclusion that even if he were indicted, he would've been acquitted by a jury because there was reasonable doubt written all over this case."
[. . .]
"TV commentators, particularly on CNN, got it wrong," according to Dershowitz. "They were acting as if the probable cause required in a case like this is like the probable cause required to stop, search, or arrest somebody. That's just not the way it works.
"You need to have a conviction that's based on the evidence a jury would probably convict, and that kind of probable cause was lacking in this case. The media did a terrible job of whooping up a frenzy by misinforming the public about how indictments generally work," Dershowitz said.
"You have people on CNN saying, 'well, I'm a former prosecutor, I know I would have indicted in this case.' That's just nonsense. That's not the way indictments work."
Dershowitz predicted there would be no federal civil rights action filed. He said "the same criteria that applied in state court apply even more rigorously in criminal prosecutions by civil rights divisions."
